Cove Creek BBQ — It’s a Family Thing
With everything going on lately, we realized something… we’ve never told you the full story behind why Cove Creek BBQ exists.
Cove Creek isn’t just a name. It’s a place — a holler tucked deep in the hills of West Virginia, where the roots of our family run deep. It’s where grit met heart, and where a hardworking man named Lucian Wiley (David’s Grandfather and Dominic’s Great) dreamed of breaking generational poverty and building something better for his family. He poured everything into a casket company he built from the ground up. But just as his dream started to take shape, tragedy struck — Lucian passed away in a car accident at only 48 years old. The business was sold, and the dream was put on hold… but it was never forgotten.
Years later, a pulled pork sandwich changed everything.
Dominic and Tiffany were asked to help with a local fundraiser for the Ashtabula Dream Center. One bite turned into a sponsorship, which turned into a truck, which turned into a crazy juggling act of jobs, inspections, parenting… and BBQ. When it came time to name this thing, there was no question: Cove Creek BBQ — in honor of Lucian, and the dream we now chase for our own family.
What makes us different? Family. Grandma D’s Potato Salad. Auntie J’s Mac Salad. Cindy’s Cowboy Beans. Real recipes, real people, real love in every bite. And when it comes to crafting new flavors, we turn to our loyal taste-testers, Rob and Nathan, whose honest feedback has helped shape the bold, crave-worthy combos we’re known for!

When Tony’s Deli came up for sale, we saw our chance to put down roots. Tony’s already had that same welcoming spirit we try to bring to every bite. As we transition it into Cove Creek BBQ, we’re keeping the classics alive — they’ll now be known as Tony’s Classics, because honoring tradition is just as important to us as building the future.
